Publication Ethics
Jurnal Hukum Nusantara is committed to maintaining high standards of publication ethics in all stages of publishing. We adopt internationally recognized principles of publication ethics to ensure that the publishing process runs with integrity, fairness, and transparency. These ethical guidelines apply to authors, editors, reviewers, and related parties in the publication process.
1. Ethics for Authors
- Originality and Plagiarism: Authors must ensure that the work is original and free from plagiarism. Use of others' work must be accompanied by proper attribution. Manuscripts detected to contain plagiarism will be rejected.
- Multiple Publications: Authors should not submit the same manuscript to more than one journal simultaneously. Manuscripts that have already been published in other journals cannot be accepted.
- Acknowledgment of Sources: Authors must acknowledge all sources of data, ideas, and research used in the manuscript. Citation should be done correctly according to the established referencing style.
- Authorship: All individuals who made significant contributions to the research should be listed as authors. The lead author should ensure that all listed authors have approved the final version of the manuscript and approved its submission to the journal.
- Conflict of Interest: Authors should disclose any potential conflicts of interest that might affect the results or interpretation of the research. All sources of research funding should be clearly stated.
2. Ethics for Editors
- Publishing Decisions: The editor is responsible for deciding which articles to publish in the journal. This decision should be based on the validity of the research, the importance of the findings, and its contribution to the field of law. Editors must adhere to applicable editorial policies and legal guidelines.
- Fairness and Confidentiality: Editors should treat each accepted manuscript with strict confidentiality and not disclose information related to the manuscript to anyone other than the author, reviewers, or other editors. Editors should evaluate manuscripts based on their intellectual content regardless of the author's race, gender, sexual orientation, religion, ethnicity, or political affiliation.
- Handling Conflicts of Interest: Editors should avoid any conflict of interest that might affect their judgment of the manuscript. If there is a potential conflict of interest, editors should seek judgment from another editor or decline to handle the manuscript.
3. Ethics for Reviewers
- Confidentiality: Reviewers should maintain the confidentiality of the manuscripts they review and should not disclose or discuss the contents with others except with the permission of the editor.
- Objectivity: Reviews should be conducted objectively and constructively, providing clear feedback and arguments supporting their judgment. Reviewers should avoid personal or irrelevant criticism.
- Acknowledgment of Sources: Reviewers should ensure that all relevant sources are acknowledged by the authors. If reviewers become aware of any work that has not been cited but is relevant to the manuscript, they should inform the editor.
- Conflict of Interest: Reviewers should decline to review a manuscript if they have a conflict of interest, whether from a competitive, collaborative, or other standpoint that might influence their judgment.
4. Handling Ethics Violations
- Investigation: If there are allegations of ethical violations, whether from authors, reviewers, or editors, Jurnal Hukum Nusantara will conduct a thorough and fair investigation. If violations are proven, appropriate action will be taken, including withdrawal of the manuscript, prohibition of future submission, or notification to the relevant institution.
- Manuscript Withdrawal: If a published manuscript is found to contain ethical violations, it will be withdrawn from the journal with a clear explanation of the reasons for withdrawal.
By following these publication ethics guidelines, Jurnal Hukum Nusantara strives to maintain academic integrity and ensure that all parties involved in the publication process adhere to high ethical standards. We encourage all contributors to the journal to uphold these principles in the work.
